Research seminar / METIS - Intelligence and democratic societies

The METIS Seminar on intelligence will retain for its sixth season the theme of "Military Intelligence : overstretched?".

After having already analyzed several dimensions of intelligence policies since 2007, and lately the oversight of intelligence services, METIS will devote five evenings, from September to December 2010, to understanding why one of the most legitimate intelligence functions -- the military one-- is presently suffering from an overstretching, torn between its political, operational, and technical dimensions. Practitioners will share their experiences in an informal manner with scholars and experts.
