Research seminar / GERME - History of Student Movements

Institutions and student movements : socio-history and political dynamics
After having examined the relationships between student movements and universities, the relationship between these movements and religion, as well as the their relationship with the events surrounding May 1968, this joint workshop between the Center of History and GERME (Research group of student movements) enlarged its investigations to include all methodological and epistemological questions on this subject.
Through the multidisciplinary approach typical of GERME, we study student movements from historical (history of teaching and of social movements), sociological (sociology of education, of organization, and of collective mobilizations), and political science approaches. This research group aims to develop a "socio-history" while studying some of the "political dynamics" (in the generic sense of the term) of student movements.
