ALLIANCE CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

2013-2014

 

Created in 2002, the Alliance Program is a unique joint-venture between Columbia University, the Ecole Polytechnique (Mathematics and Science), Sciences Po (Social Sciences) and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Law and Humanities).

The Alliance Program offers various mobility opportunities for students and faculty within the Alliance network :

ALLIANCE GRANT FOR PHD MOBILITY (three months in Paris)

  • Open to students enrolled in a PhD program at Columbia University, the Ecole Polytechnique, Sciences Po and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
  • Applications will be accepted from all disciplines.
    (Please note that a special procedure applies for Law students.)
  • Grants of up to $ 4,000 will be given to projects for the academic year 2013-2014.
  • Deadline for application: September 30th, 2012.

ALLIANCE GRANTS FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS

  • Open to all full-time faculty members from Columbia University, the Ecole Polytechnique, Sciences Po and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
  • Applications will be accepted from all disciplines.
  • Grants of up to $ 15,000 will be given to projects for the academic year 2013-2014.
  • Projects must be presented jointly by at least one faculty member from Columbia University and one faculty member from any one of the three French institutions.
  • Faculty members who do not have contacts within the network are welcome to seek guidance from the Alliance team to find a partner.
  • Deadline for application: June 30th, 2012.

ALLIANCE VISITING PROFESSORSHIPS (one semester in Paris)

  • Open to all current faculty members from Columbia University, the Ecole Polytechnique, Sciences Po and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (full-time officers of instruction of professorial rank), in all disciplines.
  • Alliance Visiting Professors are asked to teach one full course at the host institution.
  • Professors on sabbatical or on leave will be preferred to participate in this exchange.
  • Deadline for application: June 30th, 2012.
